What
Does Drill-Mate Do?
Drill-Mate automatically creates the part
geometry and maintains and controls the flow of drilling programs to
Universal Machining Centres (point-to-point and routers).
Drill-Mate automatically retrieves the correct
drill program for every part in a production batch. If the part is custom or
newly created, Drill-Mate
first creates the geometry and then assigns a unique
drill program name.
How is Drill-Mate Set Up?
Drill-Mate uses a parametric (rules-based)
database that you control. Drill-Mate is shipped with an extensive library of
machining templates covering most options for commercial casework; however,
you can change or create new templates
easily.
Each template is set up as follows:
- assign the zone
- pick the function (bore, route, groove, arc)
- pick the starting and ending positions
(relative to part corner) using variables such as Width,
Length, and Thickness
- set up the quantity field parametrically
(add extra holes only if divider panel is present, etc.)
- establish the lead in/lead out (if required)
- set the tool type
-
Why
Is Drill-Mate Beneficial?
- custom and standard parts are handled with
equal ease and speed
- hundreds of programs can be created in
minutes
- the part geometry is always 100% accurate
even when Width, Length, Thickness and other variables change
- Drill-Mate, working with a labelling system,
creates a barcode that uniquely identifies how each part is to be machined
Special Drill-Mate Features:
- horizontal or vertical boring, straight
routes, circular routes and grooving
- dynamically changes both dimension and
quantity fields
- drill programs are stored and maintained
with a program log (library)
- reports are set up as a detailed, scaled
drawing with user-added text
- each template has it's own user-defined
variables
